Here are a few of my favorites from Jonay and David's engagement session. They timed it just right- all of the gorgeous blooming flowers are already gone after just two weeks! Spring is so beautiful in North Carolina- I wish it could stay this way all of the time. I am so excited for Jonay and David's wedding this fourth of July! What a perfect couple!

You just don't see anything like this in California! Amazing! We loved the gardens. The colorful flowers are magnificent this time of year. April is diffidently the best time to visit!

It was so fun photographing the ribbon cutting at the old governor's mansion in downtown Wilmington. You really feel transported back in time with all of the Azalea 'belles' and their military escourts from the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. The mansion was the perfect place for the event. The backyard is really large with beautiful trees and colorful gardens. They served cute pastel cookies and punch- it was a lovely affair! The Azalea Festival Queen cut the ribbon officially starting the tour, along with the other celebrities that were featured during the festival. The local television station, WWAY, was there interviewing the celebrities.

Ginny and Greig got married at Wrightsville Beach at my favorite time of year- the last weekend of September. For some reason- this particular weekend has the best weather! It is not too hot, not too cold- just perfect for a wedding. Ginny and Greig's wedding was perfect in every way! Don't they make a stunning couple? We had so much fun taking their photos!

It's wedding season again and the world is blooming with gorgeous flowers! I went to the park and fell in love with the fantastic cherry blossoms, azaleas and dogwood trees.

"Yeah! the circus!- the circus is fun!" This is what my two year old nephew, Ian said all the way to the circus and all the way home that night. He even said, "My circus! I want to go to the circus!" when he went to sleep that night and when he woke up the next morning in his adorable little baby voice.
We went to the circus last week for the Azalea Festival.  It really is a surreal experience- the red and gold stripped tent standing in the middle of a field, complete with flags on top. When we arrived, it felt like we could have gone back in time a 100 years and still have seen the same scene and show. I brought my 'big' camera with my 'big' zoom lens. The circus banned all video, but they said to take as many photos as we liked. I didn't think there would be too many cameras like mine- I felt a little paparazzi-ish so I tried to keep it on the down-low during the show. I knew I would be able to get some really bright, colorful and cool shots- so I couldn't resist! I didn't use a flash because I would be too far away- so I knew there would be some motion blur- but that's part of the fun!

0001.jpgI am so in love with these shots I got of the glamorous circus 'diva'. I think she could be from the "Moulon Rouge" movie. The spotlight hitting her and the lovely rim lighting is a photographer's dream.

0018.jpgEverything about this circus was so classic- they even ended the show by shooting a guy out of a cannon!

0017.jpg0016.jpg0015.jpg0014.jpgThe camels were stylish with their colorful tassels. They rocked out to some arabian sounding music as they ran around in a circle. It was so cool!
0013.jpg0012.jpg0011.jpg0010.jpgThe amazing girls that do tricks while hanging by their hair! Talk about a headache!

My little two year old nephew came to visit and we spent the afternoon at the park together. Of course, I bring my camera and follow Ian like his own personal 'paparazzi'. This child has been extensively photographed by me his entire life. I think he just assumes I will always have a big lens pointed at him whenever he sees me! I can't help it- he is too cute!

The 'good days' are over for my sister- on this trip to the park, Ian learned about the 'ice cream man'. He thought it was pretty cool, until he dropped one popsicle in the dirt and made a mess all over his face. He hates being dirty! He tells his mom in cute baby language- 'make a mess!'.
